Personal Statement of Faith - Dave Willmore

I believe in absolute truth and that Jesus came to proclaim the truth.

I believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, my personal savior, the Lord of my life and I choose to follow Him.

I believe Jesus is God incarnate.

I believe Jesus was born of the virgin, Mary, and the Holy Spirit.

I believe Jesus, while tempted in every way as I am, is totally without sin.

I believe Jesus came to earth for the precise purpose of presenting himself as a 'sacrificial lamb', spotless and without blemish, to bear the penalty of my sin so that I could be reconciled to God.

I believe Jesus was crucified.

I believe Jesus did in fact suffer the pain and physical death as a result of that crucifixion.

I believe Jesus rose from the dead; that he was resurrected.

I believe Jesus was taken to heaven and that someday he will return.

I believe in the Trinity; one God manifested in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

I believe the Holy Scriptures are in fact the inerrant, infallible, inspired Word of God.

I believe where it may appear the scriptures conflict with each other, it is not scripture, but our interpretation of it that is flawed.

I believe the scriptures while having many writers, has one author.

I believe scripture is the authority by which I am to live my life. Not just as a what-not-to-do book, but more importantly as a guide for how to display the love of Christ in my own life as his ambassador.

I believe that scripture commands us to be baptized.  Baptism is not a work that I perform, but rather a work that Jesus performs when giving me the indwelling gift of the Holy Spirit and the promise of eternal life.

I believe in the strength, healing and encouragement that come from and through the power of prayer.

I believe Jesus established His church on the Power of the Spirit, under the authority of the scripture for the purpose of completing His work on earth.
