Life Application - Deuteronomy

1.        Moses had three separate addresses to the people of Israel in Deuteronomy.  What do you think he was attempting to accomplish with these speeches?

2.       God gave Israel a great promise in that He would take them into the ‘promised land.’  Why do you think they failed to believe this on faith?  Why would this cause them to fail to move forward as they had thought they would do?

3.       We are instructed to hear, pay attention, understand and obey God’s word.  Why are all of these inclusively so important?

4.       Moses gives specific suggestions and instructions to parents to influence the children to move towards God.  What are the suggestions Moses gives?  What are some things we can do today that would be similar?  Why do we as parents and grandparents sometimes seem to fail so miserably in accomplishing this instructions?

5.       When adults sin before the Lord, how does this affect their children and grandchildren?

6.       The fourth commandment is “Remember the Sabbath Day and keep It Holy.”  How well do we do as a church in leading our people to observe this commandment?  Where do we succeed?  Where do we fail?

7.       What is YOUR motivation to obey God?

8.       How would you define “Genuine” love for God?

9.       Why would having a ‘genuine’ love for God lead naturally to obeying God?

10.   What reasons do YOU have to be grateful to the Lord?

11.   What is the purpose of God’s discipline in the life of those He loves?

12.   How has God used discipline in your life?  How well has it worked?

13.   What is ‘true’ worship?   How can you personally grow in ‘true’ worship?
