Benjamin Franklin once said “I never knew a man
who was good at making excuses who was good at anything else.”
A. Why do people make excuses to avoid doing what
God may be calling them to do?
B. What excuses have you made in order to avoid
doing what God may have called YOU to do?
2.
When have you questioned whether you could rely
upon God’s Word? How did you work
through that questioning?
3.
It is oh so easy for us to get our priorities
all messed up, especially when it comes to what we need to do in our service to
God and His kingdom. What do we need to
do to make sure we keep our priorities in the right place?
4.
God promised to ‘bless’ the people of Israel
when they were obedient to Him. In lieu
of the ‘name it and claim it prosperity gospel’ we see constantly on TV in
America today, how does that promise apply to the church today?
5.
We live in a world where mediocrity reigns
supreme. How do YOU go about giving God
the BEST you have to offer?
6.
How can those of us in the church develop and
maintain the resolve to remain faithful and obedient to God in spite of the
retribution we face as Christians in the ‘post-Christian’ culture we find
ourselves living in today?
7.
We may
not be called to build a temple, but we are called to serve the kingdom. How do we know what – prepare for – execute
and sustain ourselves for the service God has called us to?
