Life Application - 2 Samuel

1.       Have you ever experienced ‘restoration’ in your life after something fell apart?  If so, when?

2.       When making decisions, David sought the Lord’s will.  Why might a follower of Christ today neglect to seek the Lords will in decision making?

3.       Do you have trouble trusting people in positions of authority?  Yes?  No?  Why?

4.       What do you think were the main points of the message God gave Nathan for David?

5.       David ‘scrambled’ to cover up his sin.  When have you scrambled to cover up sin in your own life?  How well did that work for you?

6.       Why is ‘covering up’ our sin such a natural response for us?

7.       What should a believer do when caught in sin?  What are the costs and benefits of doing this?

8.       What were the consequences of David’s sins of lust, deceit and murder?  How did David find forgiveness of those sins?

9.        In spite of the sin in David’s life, the heir to his throne came from that same relationship.  What does that tell you about how God can take sin and still use it for His glory in the long run?

10.   What do we deserve from God?  What do we receive through faith in Christ?
