1.
In
spite of obstacles and opposition, the Hebrew people were still able to get the
support they needed to complete the project God has given them to do. We read that God used Kings Cyrus, Artaxerxes
and Darius to accomplish His will.
A.
When have you seen circumstances that seemed
impossible changed through what must have been divine intervention to ensure
that God’s will was completed?
“They finished their building by decree of
the God of Israel…And the People of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and
the rest of the returned exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God
with joy. They offered at the dedication
of this house of God 100 bulls, 200 rams, 400 lambs, and as a sin offering for
all Israel 12 mail goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.”

it has been claimed that when we celebrate accomplishments or dedicate
facilities we are drawing attention upon our own accomplishments.
A.
Why is
it important that we do celebrate these accomplishments?
B.
How
can we ensure that it is God’s victory we are celebrating and not ours?
3. In Chapters 7-10, Ezra teaches, prays and
convicts the Hebrew people of their sin of intermarriage. The people repent, confess their sin and end
it.

Why is it important for us to identify the sins in our lives,
individually and corporately, that cause us to turn from God, confess them,
repent of them and remove them?
B.
What can be the consequences to us individually, corporately, for failing
to do so?
C.
